Since the last April G20 meeting in London, the path we have followed against tax havens remains inadequate if we really want to end their destabilizing role in the globalized economy.

The Pittsburgh summit on 24-25 September must be the opportunity to improve the political dynamic launched in April by turning it into quantifiable actions. On the eve of the Pittsburgh summit an open letter to President Barack Obama pdf co-signed by a hundred progressive MPs and MEPs was made public in Paris.

This letter relays our solidarity with Barack Obama and asks him to exercise his authority to ensure that international political pressure will fight all remaining resistance in our joint battle against tax havens. They are undermining the tax receipts of our states, much needed during these times of global financial, economic and social crisis.
