Anna Falcone said: "Looking at the Spanish policies we want to revive in Italy a series of battles for the emancipation of women. We are already working on three legislative proposals that would help to make effective, even in Italy, gender equality between men and women. We intend to improve the current law against gender violence, to ensure conditions of equality between men and women in employment, wages and careers".

We intend - Anna Falcone continued - to further boost the battle for the right of women to transmit their surname to their children, starting point of the first social and cultural discrimination. Failure civil equality of women is discriminatory and anachronistic in a Europe that recognizes this right almost everywhere, it is now unacceptable".

Soledad Cabezòn, on behalf of the PSOE, wished to Italian Socialist candidate in the list "Left and Freedom" the best success for the upcoming European elections.
